I was four years old when my dad attempted to teach me how to ride a bike without training wheels. No more
pink and white or fancy sparkly tassels for me. Instead, I was moving on up to a boys black BMX bike that was too big for me. Dad duck taped two small pieces of wood to the pedals so I could reach them and inevitably I fell, got upset and went back into the house. The next day I went next door to Mikey and Billy’s house determined to ride. They put me on their sister’s banana seat Schwinn Stingray and off I went and never looked back!
Thank you dad for giving me that initial push and continuing to do so today. Thank you for giving me my love of bikes. Thank you for your unconditional love. Thank you for teaching me to never give up. Thank you for going on a bike ride today even though it was my idea! Thank you for being you. Happy Father’s Day. I love you always.
Nice story… thanks for sharing.
Thanks Bill! Glad you enjoyed it!
